I am a Jing Method™ advanced clinical massage therapist. I am qualified to treat a range of chronic musculoskeletal pain conditions including low back pain, neck pain, headaches whiplash, RSI fibromyalgia, and many other ongoing injury or pain conditions. As an advanced clinical massage therapist, I am trained in a range of safe and effective soft tissue and massage techniques that aim to reduce your pain and increase your movement within 1-6 clinical treatments. The techniques I use include; fascial work, trigger point therapy, acupressure, stretching, and tailored self-care.
Sports injuries such as runners’ knee (IT band syndrome) and plantar fasciitis, can persist due to fascial restrictions and overuse. A combination of sports massage, trigger point therapy and sports stretches can speed the return to full training. I use the Jing Method™ to treat all sporting injuries to assist the body back to pain-free function.
The Jing Hot Stone Fusion Massage is a profound and deeply relaxing experience.
A rhythmic, deep and flowing massage sequence is performed with hot stones, hands, and arms throughout a 60 or 90 minute treatment. Described as the ultimate full-body touch therapy, the Jing Hot Stone Fusion Massage transcends you into a blissful state, somewhere between awake and asleep.
Tense muscles dissolve. The world is put on pause. This beautiful treatment leaves you feeling deeply relaxed.
During pregnancy the body goes through many changes; hormones change; ligaments loosen and there is more strain on the body which can lead to postural changes. It can be a very exciting time but also very stressful, tiring and full of anxiety. Pregnancy massage can be used to treat many of the aches and pains that occur in pregnancy and will also promote better sleep.
It also allows you some time to yourself to feel pampered. Targeted massage treatment can aid in the relief of: Back & pelvic pain, Carpal Tunnel Syndrome, Headaches, restless legs, piriformis syndrome and sciatica. Pregnancy massage is considered to be safe and during your first consultation I will carry out a thorough consultation to ensure there are no contraindications.
In the second and third trimesters, you will be positioned on your side with pillows to make you feel comfortable. The massage is carried out as a full body massage and includes some gentle stretches and mobilisations of the shoulders, wrists, hips and ankles.
After the birth of the baby, it is very easy to forget your own needs but post-natal massage will continue to help with many of the aches and pains you may still be suffering with and importantly allows you time to relax!
Reflexology is a non-intrusive, touch therapy and can be received by all ages ranging from newborn babies to those receiving end-of-life care. Reflexology treatments are tailored to the individual with the aim to restore the body’s natural balance and promote an enhanced feeling of well-being. Typically, following a treatment, the receiver will feel more relaxed, less stressed, and reduced tension. Reflexology is excellent for both promoting and maintaining good health. Treatments can not only help with specific symptoms but having regular treatments can ensure that the body continues to sustain optimum health. Reflexology helps to boost circulation, eliminate toxins, and improve the central nervous system and immune system.
Myofascial release is a specialised and very effective hands-on technique that involves applying gentle sustained pressure into the myofascial connective tissue restrictions to eliminate pain and restore motion.
This hands-on treatment releases restrictions within the fascial network (connective tissue). It enables stuck, hardened and dehydrated areas to become pliable, soft, mobile and hydrated. Each treatment is performed directly onto the skin without oils. The client may or may not feel much happening, but will feel ‘freer’ or ‘lighter’ after the treatment.
Fascia is a fibrous network of collagen and elastin fibres surrounded by a fluid called ground substance. This ground substance works as the body’s shock absorber. In its normal, healthy state, fascia is relaxed and has the ability to stretch and move. If the body experiences trauma – whether it is physical or emotional, the fascia will lose its pliability and become hard, dehydrated and stuck.
The fascia’s response to stress in an area is by laying down extra fibres, creating thickening and adhesions both through and between muscles. This then leads to restrictions, limitation of movement and poor tissue health. Myofascial release can also increase energy, increase breathing capacity, restore muscle function and improve postural alignment. It relieves physical and emotional strain, helps balance the body and promote self-healing and relaxation.
